Camp Vortex Retreats runs private one-on-one wellness retreats at Mystic Sky Ranch, five acres in Landers, California, in the high desert near Joshua Tree. One to three guests per retreat, one practitioner, no groups. Formats run from a single Reset Day to seven-day immersions built around nervous system regulation, somatic bodywork, fascia and mobility work, breathwork, Qigong, and neuro sound frequency sessions. Most guests come for burnout recovery, sleep and recovery, or a reset in how their body handles stress load.
Mystic Sky Ranch sits on five private acres in Landers, California, about twenty minutes north of Joshua Tree National Park and roughly two and a half hours from Los Angeles. The land is open desert with no light or noise pollution, which is what makes the night sky, stargazing, and evening fire sitting part of the retreat rather than an add-on. You will never share the property with anyone you did not bring.
Four formats are published: the Reset Day at $950 with no overnight stay, the 2 Day Private Transformational Immersion at $3,200, the 3 Day Desert Reset at $4,200, and the 4 Day Coherent Body Reset at $6,000. All prices are per person. Five and seven day immersions, including the Executive Reset for burnout recovery, are available by inquiry. Any retreat can extend by a day and night for $1,300.
These retreats are built for one to three people at a time — founders, executives, athletes, and people who have gone a long stretch without stopping. Most guests arrive on very little sleep, carrying a season of work in their body, and are looking for burnout recovery, better sleep and recovery, or a way back into strength and mobility. The format suits someone who wants to do this privately, with one practitioner, rather than in a room full of strangers. No prior experience with bodywork or movement practice is needed.
The ranch house has five bedrooms and three baths, with a sauna, hot tub, cowboy tub, and yoga studio on the property. Towels, robes, soaps and lotions are provided. The Jack Rabbit Slim cabin — Murphy bed and full kitchen — is available as an add-on for an extra night at $250, or as an overnight on a Reset Day at $130.
We recommend bringing comfortable clothing suitable for yoga and outdoor activities and a jacket, as well as any personal items you may need. Lotions and soaps are provided. Towels and robes are provided. We suggest hiking shoes/ boots, sunglasses and bathing suit . Additionally, don’t forget to bring sun protection / sunscreen.
Yes. Two full meals daily, plus snacks, water, tea, coffee, smoothies and juice. Whole food and anti-inflammatory, fresh and locally sourced, and adjusted to dietary needs and restrictions on request.
Browse the four published formats on the Retreats page and send an inquiry, or book a call to talk through which format fits. Five and seven day immersions, and Nosara dates, are arranged by inquiry only. Every retreat is scheduled directly with Ramsay — there is no calendar of fixed dates to fit into.
Booking terms, including the deposit and balance schedule, are set out at checkout through WeTravel and confirmed before payment. Life happens — if something personal comes up, reach out and we will find another date. Because each retreat is private and the property is held for you alone, dates are rescheduled rather than resold.

A private burnout recovery retreat is several days of one-on-one work with a single practitioner, with no group and no schedule to keep up with. At Camp Vortex, days are built around sessions of somatic bodywork, breathwork, Qigong, fascia work, and sound healing, spaced out with sauna, hot tub, meals, and long open stretches on the property. The pacing is set by what your body is doing that day, not by a printed agenda.
A somatic retreat works through the body and the nervous system directly, in hands-on sessions led by a practitioner, rather than through amenities you book for yourself. There is no class schedule, no other guests, and no shared space. The work is nervous system regulation, fascia release, and lymphatic bodywork, delivered one-on-one across consecutive days so that each session builds on the one before it.

Every retreat is built from the same set of practices, sequenced to the person. Private somatic bodywork, myofascial and fascia release, lymphatic bodywork, Qigong and Tai Chi movement, breathwork, and neuro sound frequency sessions form the hands-on work. Around those sit sauna and heat exposure, hot tub and cowboy tub soaks, earthing and barefoot grounding on the land, guided desert nature immersion and hiking, night sky stargazing and fire sitting, and cognitive reframing conversation. Meals are whole food and anti-inflammatory. Phones stay down as much as you want them to. Nothing is scheduled by the clock — the sequence follows what your body is doing that day.

There is no printed agenda. Sessions run across consecutive days so each one builds on the last, and the evenings are deliberately unstructured — fire, dark sky, and sleep. Guests who come in for executive burnout recovery usually spend the first day doing almost nothing at all.

Yes. The Joshua Tree immersions at Mystic Sky Ranch run year-round and are the primary program. The Coherent Body — Blue Zone Longevity Blueprint Retreat in Nosara, Costa Rica runs seasonally, built around the same nervous system and longevity work in a Blue Zone setting. Joshua Tree dates are open now; Nosara dates are announced ahead of each season and arranged by inquiry.
Check-in and check-out are both at 12:00 PM, for every overnight format. The Reset Day runs 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Every guest leaves with the movement protocol taught during their stay — the Coherent Body Morning Reset, a short daily sequence built to hold what the retreat opened up, along with the specific fascia, breath, and mobility work chosen for you. That is included, not sold separately. Ramsay stays reachable afterward for questions as you integrate, and the online programs through the Embodied Longevity Method, including the Sinus Reset, are there for anyone who wants more structure at home. Many guests come back for a longer format once they have felt what a few days does.
